The Optimist is a small pram-bowed racing dinghy, affectionately known as an "Opi" to those who sail it, it was specifically designed to be a junior training and racing boat and enjoys active fleets in over 100 nations. It's great for teaching kids how to sail with confidence building quickly in this safe and easily handled rig. It is extremely hard to capsise.

The club has one optimist for members to use.
