Unlike many clubs, young sailors are not just 'positively encouraged' and 'welcome to join in with all Club activities,' they actually are a key part of club life. We offer advanced training for those who can already sail, and a welcoming entrance to the sport to those who are just looking to try it.

We have a youth team, made up of a mixture of kids, teens and adults to ensure a friendly face and welcome into the sport, to actively seek in promoting the sport to new junior members, and organising and planning youth events.

We have many clubs boats, the full list of which can be found on The Fleet page, but for the youth especially, the Optimist, Toppers, Laser Pico and Laser Radial. All these boats are available for use free in the first year of membership, and a small annual fee there after. Please check the Costs & Fees page for the latest pricing.

Club racing is always welcome to all, with divisions depending on ability, ensuring that the new sailor isn't trying to compete against those sailing for 25 years! This is self moderated, so if you feel you want to move up/down a division, this can be arranged.

If you're a youth member, looking to get into the sport, or someone looking for an active club in which to sail, feel free to just turn up on any club day, (Sunday in the Winter - Tue, Thu, Sun in the Summer) and someone will be more than willing to talk you through the sport, show you the ropes and get you on the water. Don't forget a change of clothes!
